Tonight We Are Young~

Hello my homos.
So today it was sunny!! For Swindon this is a major breakthrough. My friend Lara came to visit today as she lives just down the street and loves meee. We therefore decided to take advantage of the good weather and take lots of photographs and make cookies that were amazing~

Lara is a legend~ Oh my she cracks me up!

^^ This face is why I am not a fashion blogger aha ^^

My beautiful friend <3 Love you lotsa Larry~

Excuse the lack of art, I am still working on a painting that is taking forever but trust me it will be finished soon! But here have a look at this painting. I absolutely love it. Saw it on Deviantart and it blew me away. The colours and creativeness is beautiful and it looks a little like my painting I'm working on at the moment. Crazy!

Hope you all have a good sunny day!!

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more!

I believe very much in the statement "Practice Makes Perfect" except that no one will be perfect but I think what it is getting at is that if you practice at something long enough, you will get better! Last week I went away to this school convention where all these other schools like mine go and compete against each other in lots of different events. I didn't enter very much but I went full out on my art. I entered a pastels drawing, a pencil drawing and an acrylics painting. I think I did pretty well getting 1st in my pastels and my painting and 3rd in my pencils. I am still super over the moon! But I think I was more shocked at my pastels really. You see I have been going to this convention for 4 years and this was my last one. It really has played a major part in my life and has encouraged me to really go for it. So yes this is a little time line thing of my progress over the years for the is competition~

Pastels 2010...14th :L

Sketching 2011... 9th place :l

Sketching 2012...2nd place!!

Acrylics 2012...1st place!!

Sketching 2013... 3rd place!!

Acrylics 2013...1st place!!

And pastels 2013... 1st place :D

So yes if anyone from ESC is reading this I'd just like to say thank you so much for the opportunities to compete and for making that one week in the last 4 years awesome! I've learnt so much. To the future my friends!! I can't wait.
OH and on Thursday I finally got round to accepting my place at college for September!! I'm going to be studying fine art, another art course (I think it's called art, craft and design) and psychology but I'm thinking about doing a BTEC in art and design but I am not sure yet. Decisions decisions.
OH AND check out these little button thingies I made on the side bar. Arn't they quaint? They are so you can skip my boring posts and shizz <3

I Just Love Food

So recently I did an oral report at school on the title "I Love Food". It was from the heart indeed. Today I was sitting in front of the telly watching Jamie Oliver do his 30 minute meals thing and my tummy was telling me to make cake. But alas no chocolate was in the house! So I opted for the next best thing, cinnamon.
So I present to you my cinnamon, apple and sultana cake (AKA mummy cake because it reminds me of my mum).

Ingredients~
  • 250g of apples, peeled and finely chopped
  • 100g of butter, softened
  • 150g of caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 150g plain flour
  • 1 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • A sprinkling of nutmeg
  • 60g of sultanas

Method~
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees/ Gas mark 4 and butter up/grease a baking tin.
2. Cream together eggs, butter, and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add all the other ingredients apart from the apples and sultanas. When mixed add the apples and sultanas and make sure they are evenly distributed throughout the mix.
4. Place into baking tin and cook for 60mins.

My mum has been playing this all day. I'm loving it~

Lots of love and good food blessings to all.
